The Keyhole, as it's name implies, is a notch in the rock along the trail to Longs Peak's summit. It's part of the ridgeline between Longs Peak and Storm Peak. Just below the Keyhole you'll pass through the Boulderfield, simply a pile of huge boulders covering a large area. Just to the left of the Keyhole is the Agnes Vaille memorial, a small stone hut erected in her honer. She was the first to climb the east face of Longs during the winter. She was caught in a storm and died of exposure on the mountain. As you step into the Keyhole, all of Glacier Gorge and the peaks beyond suddenly and dramatically come into view. It's a site that will take your breath away.
