Rainbow - This photo was taken from the Safeway parking lot in Estes Park on a Sunday evening after a typical afternoon thunderstorm. I promise the photo is in no way retouched! I used a Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera, and if I remember correctly I used the "scene menu" for twilight/sunset to accommodate the light (this file is a condensed version of the original). This is one of my all-time favorites, one of those moments that just happens. Enjoy! Black-Headed Grossbeak - The Grossbeak was shot in the front yard of our Eagle Cliff cabin with Kodak High Definition ISO 200 film in late afternoon light. Exposure of about 1/1500th @ f4 with a tripod. Taken in early July 2003 with a 180mm f2.8 lens. It probably took about 90 minutes of patience before this particular bird felt safe enough to move into range. I have a few closer, but liked the light, expression, and composition more in this one.
