This water ouzel was on the Tonahutu Creek a few years ago.  I was lucky to be this close to it, since they're very flighty.  I just noticed it as I walked by, and then crept back to get a little closer.  I'd never seen one stay in one place so long.

I took it without a tripod, using a 150mm lens.  I watched it for quite a while as it preened.  I think you can see its eye, and the beak is so thin and pointy.
